Novalyst, originally a spin-off from Louis Pasteur University (Strasbourg, France) and CNRS research laboratories, subsequently set up its own research operations and established business relations with biopharmaceutical partners.


2008
Alliance with AliX Pharma
In 2008, Novalyst Discovery and its affiliate AliX Pharma have combined their expertise to offer integrated discovery services of small molecules. Novalyst know-how in chemistry advantageously complements AliX Pharma expertise in protein structure-based drug design.
2007
Relocation to a brand new chemistry R&D facility
Novalyst has relocated to the BioParc, a science cluster, in Illkirch-Strasbourg, France. This new infrastructure includes 1000 square meters of laboratory space specifically designed and equipped for organic synthesis.
Over the course of the last three years, Novalyst has evolved from a small start-up into an acknowledged research and development organization. To date, Novalyst has completed over 200 projects for industry clients. As of today, Novalyst delivers high-end chemistry outsourcing solutions to over 15 corporate partners spanning pharmaceutical, cosmetic and agrochemical industries. This diversity in project types and clientele has helped us continue to build up scientific knowledge as well as project management experience.
2006
Facility expansion & multi-disciplinary team
Novalyst assembled a team of 20 chemists with multi-disciplinary and complementary expertise.
Novalyst expanded further in June 2006 when opening a supplementary chemistry R&D facility in the Charles Sadron Research Institute in Strasbourg (France).
2005
Business expansion
Novalyst served more than 10 partners with chemistry services to support successful development of research programs.
2004
Facility expansion and launch of commercial operations
The first synthesis contract was completed in January 2004.
The facility expanded with the addition of a second laboratory space in April 2004.
2003
Operations begin
Novalyst set up operations and opened its first laboratory at CNRS/ULP incubator in Strasbourg in July 2003.

Inception
Novalyst won a French national technology venture competition with a chemo-technology project aimed at improving synthesis output.
Novalyst was a spin-off from the Laboratoire de Synthèse Bioorganique headed by Charles Mioskowski (1949-2007), a joint research unit of Louis Pasteur University (Strasbourg, France) and CNRS.
